Cowboys cut CB Michael Hawkins

The Cowboys' roster now stands at 77 after cornerback Michael Hawkins was waived this morning.

Hawkins, a Carrollton R.L. Turner product whose wild football history includes a brief stop at the University of Oklahoma and a stint with the Dallas Desperadoes, was signed during the off-season.

He bruised his patella during the first week of training camp and has not practiced since, but he was apparently healthy enough to not receive an injury settlement. Advertisement
