REPORT: R. Kelly Charged With 11 New Sex-Related Crimes In Chicago
By: Vincent Tucker
R. Kelly once sung “I Believe I Can Fly”… perhaps he should make a 2019 version that goes “I Believe I’m Going To Jail.”
On Thursday (May 30), the 52-year-old was charged with 11 new sex-related crimes by Cook County Prosecutors in Chicago.
The new charges include four counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault, two counts of criminal sexual assault by force, two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse against a victim between the ages of 13 to 16.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the four counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault alone carry a mandatory sentence of six to 30 years.
The charges came after several of his accusers testified in front of a grand jury.
The singer’s lawyer claims he hasn’t looked at the new charges yet, because he hasn’t been notified. Steven Greenberg told the Sun-Times, “we’ll see what the charges are, and we’ll proceed accordingly. I know this much: It’s old. They’re allegations from years ago.”
The lawyer later went on Twitter to say the new charges were linked to an existing victim. “[Kelly] was NOT charged with a new case. He was recharged in an existing case, same alleged victim and time (a decade ago) It changes nothing,” Greenberg wrote. “These are the same conduct, just charged differently, same alleged victim, same time frame, same facts. We expect the same results.”

USA Today reports a press conference was held to reveal a THIRD video of R. Kelly and an underage girl has been turned over to Law Enforcement.
The VHS recording as found in a box of old sports tapes by a man named Gary Dennis. He says he found the tape labeled "R. Kelly" and saw the 52-year-old entertainer performing lewd acts with a teenage girl.
Dennis shared: "I thought it was a recording of a R. Kelly concert. I watched the sports on the tape and then continued to watch what I thought would be an R. Kelly concert. To my shock and surprise, R. Kelly appeared to be on the tape but not in concert. Instead, he was sexually abusing underage African American girls. He was telling them what to do and what to say and it appeared that he was in control of the camera."
Dennis says he has zero connection to the singer and has no idea how he came in possession of the alleged recording.
