Law & Disorder...Manuel Seal Jr., co-producer of Usher’s, “My Boo,” is facing charges of theft and trespassing after allegedly trying to steal old tires from a Georgia auto shop. Seal is up for a Grammy for the single. How are you up for a Grammy and stealing tires -- old ones at that? • The Daily News reports that in a countersuit filed Jay-Z charges R.Kelly's legal troubles and bizarre behavior forced him to boot Kelly from their tour. Kells better hand over in his eye masks & capes! • Snoop is being sued by makeup artist Kylie Bell, who claims Snoop and his crew, raped her after a Jan. 2003 taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live. Snoop filed a preemptive suit against Bell last month, claiming she was trying to extort money from him. • Master P and Silkk the Shocker were arrested in LA after police allegedly found two handguns in their car. There goes P working his own PR again! • Lil' Kim's manager Damion Butler pleaded guilty to participating in a shooting and conspiring to obtain/traveling with a false passport. Butler could face up to 71 months in prison. Kim is scheduled to stand trial on Feb. 28th. That ugly b*tch is going down! •State prosecutors in Tennessee will not pursue rape charges against Anthony Anderson. Anderson was accused of attacking an extra last summer on the set Hustle & Flow, but a judge threw out the case last fall. • A Court of Appeals in Louisiana recently affirmed a 2003 ruling that sided with Juvenile in a case that debated who owned the phrase "back that *ss up." New Orleans artist DJ Jubilee filed a copyright-infringement suit against Juvenile arguing that his single "Back That Azz Up" was similar to a song Jubilee recorded that same year called "Back That *ss Up." The court's ruling on Jan 13th denied Jubilee's argument that the songs were similar. Damn, nearly 2 years later and still got nothing!
Oh Really...MTV News is reporting that Capitol artist Houston gouged out his own eye after bodyguards stopped him from throwing himself out of a London hotel window in an apparent suicide attempt. No details on his condition are currently available, but the incident reportedly took place after he was locked in his hotel room following his jump attempt. In a statement, a Capitol spokesperson said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with Houston during this tragic time.” Houston, you have a problem!
Ray J told Smooth Magazine that Brandy saved him from a life of crime and killing when he became a member of LA's notorious Bloods gang. "A lot of young black kids get caught up in the ghetto, and I did," he said. "But luckily, I was able to go tell my momma and Brandy right before anything crazy happened. I told them I was in a lot of trouble and I really wanted to get away because I felt something dangerous was going to happen. Something tragic. There was a lot of gunplay and I was getting shot at a lot. So I moved to North Hollywood with my godsister Tracy, and from there, I changed my life." Um, he grew up in Beverly Hills, he ain’t foolin’ a damn soul!
Celebrity Justice uncovered two new twists in the Bill Cosby investigation. Police recently interviewed Cosby. "CJ" confirms that Cosby told police he had a sexual encounter with the woman accusing him, but that it was entirely consensual. Cosby characterized the sexual encounter as "not intercourse," and that it involved primarily touching. At the time of the incident in question, the woman worked for the Temple University women's basketball team. Her lawyers tell "CJ" that Cosby gave the woman what she believed to be "herbal" pills of some sort and that she was, "legally incapacitated" when she says Cosby fondled her. But "CJ" confirmed that Cosby's reps flatly deny that he gave her any herbal pill. There are also questions about the woman's story. There is a confidential police report stating the she went to a Philadelphia civil lawyer before contacting police. Um, is this Bill Cosby or Bill Clinton?

In his new role, Costner will develop and implement national promotional and marketing campaigns keyed to lifestyle in the urban and hip-hop radio formats. The Buzz: Even though it’s been reported that Puffy is seeking a new distribution deal for Bad Boy, some are saying the talk is real premature. Being that there is still one year left, folks at Universal are not expected to take action until the summer, at the latest. • Word is Irving Azoff and Howard Kaufman are attempting to snatch up Chris Lighty’s Violator which would give Azoff and company a chance to enter the Urban scene.
Upcoming Projects/TV Shows/Movies Etc...Flicks: Ludacris, Talib Kweli, ?uestlove and Black Thought are scheduled to join Spike Lee in commemorating the 40th Anniversary of the death of Malcolm X on Feb. 7th at Schomburg Center in NY. The event will also include an advance screening of "By Any Means Necessary: The Making of Malcolm X," a documentary chronicling the making of the 1992 Spike Lee flick. The documentary was created for the two-disc special-edition DVD of "Malcolm X" being released on Feb. 8th. • In honor of Black History Month the N network is developing its first network miniseries. Miracle's Boys follows three orphaned teenage brothers struggling with their lives in Harlem. The six-episode series premieres Feb. 18th. Spike Lee and LeVar Burton will share directing duties. Shows: 50 Cent will star on "The Simpsons." In an episode called "Pranksta Rap," Bart sneaks out of the house to attend a 50 concert and then fakes his own kidnapping to avoid being grounded. The episode airs Feb. 13th. • Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis will appear as themselves on "Half & Half." The show airs Feb. 21st. • Kerry Washington will make multi-episode appearances on Boston Legal starting Feb. 20th. • Warren G, Talib Kweli and Fantasia will guest star on upcoming episodes of "All of Us." Warren G plays a warrant officer, Feb. 8th, while Kweli and Fantasia appear as themselves on the Mar. 1st episode. • Fantasia, Ruben Studdard, Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams and Angie Stone all performed at BET's Celebration of Gospel. The show airs Feb. 24th.
