Promoter Kasib Mahdi claims in a suit filed in Santa Clara (CA) that Valentino and his manager knew he would be a no-show when they made the deal for the Apr. 29th show in the first place. Mahdi is seeking $116,000. • The Diplomats, Roc-A-Fella Records, Island Def Jam Music Group and Universal Music Group are being sued by music publisher Jamie Music Publishing. Jamie claims The Diplomats song “I’m Ready” from Diplomatic Immunity infringes upon Barbara Mason’s hit “Yes I’m Ready.” Jamie Music Publishing owns the rights to the song, which was first released on Artic in 1965. • R. Kelly's lost another round in court. A Chicago judge refused to dismiss a civil suit brought against him by an adult woman-claiming invasion of privacy and negligence for being included in the antics on a sex tape allegedly made by Kelly. Kelly has denied that he's the man on the tape. This is like the 59th round he’s lost!
